The VetCall Veterinary Surgery in Station Road North Chingford London was established in September 1997 by Stephen Posnett MRCVS and has established a reputation for providing a high standard of animal health care, advice and modern veterinary services. The practice moved to refurbished premises at 113 Station Road in January 2009.

The practice is staffed by veterinary surgeons Stephen Posnett BVSc MSc MSc(VetGP) MRCVS assisted by Ben Cranke BVSc MRCVS, Head Veterinary Nurse Kelly Hurren RVN, Sam Clements RVN, Trainee Veterinary Nurse Zoe TVN, Client Care Manager Kim, Head Receptionist Hayley, Receptionist Claire and Practice Manager Elsa Posnett PhD. We actively undergo continuing professional development to enable us to keep up to date with the latest advances in veterinary practice. Changes in the veterinary world have sharpened our veterinary skills and business minds.

We are a full service surgery and our commitment to total animal care includes consultations, physical examinations, diagnostic procedures such as digital radiology, ultrasound, endoscopy, ECG, clinical and medical techniques, dental and surgical procedures. If specialist help is necessary we refer pets to professional centres.

Our early opening hours allows for delivering and collecting pets, dispensing medications, booking appointments, accounts, food sales and enquiries. We are closed on Bank Holidays but we will see pets with real emergencies.

Our facilities

Consultations in a private air-conditioned consulting room seven days a week are by appointment only. This is to minimize waiting as we realize your time is valuable. Computerised client records enable swift access to patient details and the rapid dispensing of medication for your pet at the time of consultation without delay.

Two operating theatres, one an isolated sterile dedicated modern well-equipped theatre, includes isoflurane inhalation anaesthesia, active gas scavenging and monitoring equipment suitable for vulnerable small animals, birds and reptiles.

Separate heated and air conditioned comfortable dog and cat wards allows animals to recover under the supervision of a trained member of staff. You are welcome to visit your pet at any mutually convenient time

Emergency service

We provide a year round, 24 hour Emergency Service for all our clients. Emergencies will be seen at the VetCall Veterinary Surgery at any time and will always take priority and you will not be directed to another surgery.

A veterinary surgery you can trust

The VetCall Veterinary Surgery is proud to be an approved member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) Practice Standards Scheme and accredited as a Small Animal Tier 2 General Practice. In order to achieve this standard, the surgery has met requirements encompassing premises, diagnostic equipment, laboratory facilities, qualifications and continuing education of staff, dispensing of medicines and Health and Safety regulations. Using an RCVS Accredited Practice means high standards of care for your pet, which means peace of mind for you and for your family. The surgery is also a registered Veterinary Nurse Training and Assessment Practice.

Providing year round care for your pet

Our primary responsibility is to help you keep your pet as healthy as possible. That is why much of the care we provide is aimed at protecting your pet from disease and having your pet vaccinated against contagious disease is still very important. Equally important is the early detection of disease. Our veterinary knowledge and skills are not just available for emergencies, nor is care restricted to sick animals. Injury and disease are major concerns of course but so is preventative medicine, regular health checks, guidance and advice.

We feel it is our obligation to you and your pet that we provide a progressive medical and surgical service. Fees are structured to support this service. We charge a reasonable fee for a job well done by professional and caring staff. Accounts are due for settlement at the end of a consultation, the discharge of your pet or upon collection of medicines and diets. We accept cash, credit and debit cards and personal cheques. Invoices are fully itemised. We will happily provide a written estimate for the probable course of treatment. Please bear in mind that any estimate can only be an approximate - a pet's illness may not follow a conventional course.

Owning an animal is a huge responsibility and it can be expensive. Insuring your pet provides peace of mind for you and allows us to give your pet the best treatment it deserves.
